Born and raised in Hawai’i, now calling Washington, DC home, I carry the values of my culture with me in everything I do – including how I travel and how I help others do the same. Aloha isn’t just a greeting where I’m from; it’s a way of moving through the world with love and compassion. My background in anthropology deepened this instinct, teaching me to see travel not as a checklist of destinations, but as a web of shared human values worth understanding.
French Polynesia has long captivated me for this reason. As a Native Hawaiian, I recognize a kindred spirit in Tahiti’s culture – rooted in the same values I grew up with: ‘ohana (family), mālama `aina (caring for the land), and a deep sense of kuleana – the responsibility we hold to protect the places and people around us.
Booking your dream vacation is my job. But ensuring you experience each destination with reverence and authenticity – that’s my kuleana.
